Where Nature Remains Pure
Chitral lies in the far north of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan, in the western reaches of the Hindu Kush range. It is a district of high peaks, narrow river valleys and small communities that have shaped their way of living around what the land and altitude allow.
The Hindu Kush
The Hindu Kush is one of the great mountain systems of Central and South Asia, running through northern Pakistan and into Afghanistan. Its altitude and isolation have preserved growing and collection practices that, elsewhere, have long since been industrialized.
Mountain Valleys
Each valley within the region has its own microclimate — its own mix of altitude, sun exposure and rainfall — which is part of why products from one valley can taste noticeably different from the next, even within Chitral itself.
Chitral
Traditional Communities
The knowledge behind our products — when to collect honey, how long to sun-dry apricots, where to find Shilajeet at altitude — belongs to the communities who have practiced it for generations. Our role is to source respectfully and represent that knowledge accurately, not to claim it as our own invention.
Our Sourcing Philosophy
Named Origins
We describe where a product is sourced from, and separately where it is packed, rather than blurring the two.
Quality Selection
Each batch is reviewed before it enters our catalog. Products that don't meet our standard don't get sold under our name.
Minimal Intervention
We aim to change as little as possible between collection and packaging.
