Why Product Origin Matters
“Made in,” “sourced from” and “packed in” get used almost interchangeably in a lot of product marketing, and we think that’s a problem. They mean different things, and conflating them makes it harder for customers to understand what they’re actually buying.
A honey jar might be sourced from apiaries in the Chitral Valley, but bottled and labeled at a facility elsewhere. A Shilajeet bottle might be collected from a specific mountain region but processed and packed in a different city. None of that is dishonest — it’s just logistics — but it should be described accurately rather than smoothed over.
At Kalash Naturals, we try to be specific: we’ll tell you where something is sourced from, and separately where it’s packed, whenever those are different things. We won’t claim a certification we don’t hold, and we won’t imply lab testing we haven’t done. Where we don’t yet have specific documentation to share, we say so plainly rather than filling the gap with vague language.
It’s a small thing, but we think it’s the kind of small thing that either builds trust or quietly erodes it. We’d rather build it.
